About Aleksandar

I am Aleksandar Gasevic. I guide fly fishing across northern Montenegro, and I am not based in one town.

I guide on the rivers Tara, Lim, Ljuča and Ćehotina, and on the lakes Plav Lake, Biogradsko Lake and Black Lake. I speak English fluently. You can write to me in English and fish with me in English. If you are new to fly fishing, you are welcome too.

Competition fly fishing

In competition fly fishing you do not choose your water. On a river, a draw gives you a short stretch, called a beat, and a session of a few hours.

I have competed in fly fishing for more than ten years, with international and national awards, and over the years I have been a member of Montenegro's national fly fishing team. Competing teaches you where the fish are, how to catch them and when. That is what I bring to your day.

I fish and teach euro nymphing. If you want to learn it, we do that on your guided day. If you compete yourself, or want to start, I offer competition training: approach, rigging and simulations.

  • Aleksandar Gasevic casting from the bank of a green river, seen through wild flowers.
  • A grayling's tall red-spotted dorsal fin held up to the camera, with Aleksandar Gasevic behind it under a blue sky.
  • Aleksandar Gasevic fishing from the shore of a still mountain lake under autumn larches.

I answer you myself. And I am your guide on the water.

I am one guide. You write to me and I answer.

I arrange all permits, the national park ones too. Permits and lunch are in the price. If you stay in a town by the waters, I drive you on the fishing day. Pickup from further away is by arrangement. I rent out gear by request, modern competition rods and reels among it. Edited photos and a drone clip can be added to your day.

Where I guide

I am not based in one town: I guide across the north and meet you where you are staying when you are in a town by the waters; from further away we arrange the pickup. The map shows the waters I guide.
